We saw last week that this Wednesday was forecast to be strong easterlies, which now seem to have eased. So there’s quite a clear week of weather, albeit cold with the easterlies, which crabs, in particular, don’t like we’re told.
The smaller boats will be out on Tuesday and we will be able to source everything (we hope) that evening or on the market in the morning. Bass are starting to arrive on the market down here, mackerel have been abundant recently until last week when they seemed to have gone elsewhere. We hope there will be some on Tuesday, but can’t be sure.
Below is a short video of Tom & Tom on the Harvest Reaper coming into Newlyn and landing Sunday’s catch on the quay.
