Dover sole is a highly prized flatfish species with an elongated and oval-shaped body and a smooth, light-brown to grayish-green skin. They have both eyes on the upper (dark) side of their body, which provides excellent camouflage when they lie flat on the seabed. They are known for their delicate flavor and in particular the firmness of their white flesh.
Dover sole is highly regarded in the culinary world and is a popular choice for fine dining. Its mild, sweet taste and firm texture make it ideal for a variety of preparations, such as pan-frying, grilling, or poaching. Classic dishes like Sole Meunière, where the fish is cooked with butter, lemon, and parsley, highlight the delicate flavour of Dover sole.
Each package in your order is labelled with the name of the vessel, or group of vessels, responsible for catching your fish, along with the their home port in Cornwall.
Delivery is free on orders over £50.
Orders placed before 10pm Monday – Wednesday arrive 48 hours after. Orders placed Thursday -Sunday are delivered on Wednesday.
£8.95 postage fee applies on orders under £50 that contain chilled goods.
