Squid, a marine cephalopod mollusc, is a fascinating creature, known for its unique appearance and intriguing behaviour/ They are members of the class Cephalopoda, which includes other cephalopods like octopuses and cuttlefish. They have elongated bodies, a soft mantle, and a distinct head with large eyes.

Squid have firm, white flesh and a mild, slightly sweet flavour. It is a versatile ingredient in various dishes, from calamari to salads to pasta.

Squid can be prepared in numerous ways, including grilling, sautéing, or stewing. Squid ink is also used as a flavouring and colouring agent in traditional dishes like squid ink pasta – please call us if you are interested in obtaining ink.


Each package in your order is labelled with the name of the vessel, or group of vessels, responsible for catching your fish, along with the their home port in Cornwall.

Delivery is free on orders over £50.

Orders placed before 10pm Monday – Wednesday arrive 48 hours after. Orders placed Thursday -Sunday are delivered on Wednesday.

£8.95 postage fee applies on orders under £50 that contain chilled goods.

Click & Collect is available from our Falmouth shop.

You will receive a pick up confirmation email when your order is ready to be collected, which will be same day. 

To help you buy the right amount, we offer the following guidance on portion sizes.

A standard portion size for an adult is 150g to 200g of edible fish.

When you buy fillets, the weight of the fillets is all edible weight.

If you’re buying whole fish you need to account for the weight of bones and parts which aren’t edible.
