Whole fish and fillets, much of it landed daily by Cornish day-boats.
Our fresh fish is sourced daily, much of it from the day-boat fleets working out of Falmouth and Newlyn harbours on the south Cornwall coast. Day-boats return to port each morning, meaning the fish you buy from Pysk has spent the minimum time between sea and counter.
We work directly with local fishermen and Newlyn fish market to select the best of each day’s landing. Availability changes with the seasons, the weather, and what the boats bring in — that’s the nature of truly fresh fish. In summer you’ll find mackerel, sea bass, and John Dory; autumn and winter bring pollack, megrim sole, and monkfish. We update our stock daily so what you see online reflects what’s on the counter.
Every fish is prepared to order in our Falmouth shop. Choose whole fish for the best value and flavour, or ask for fillets, pin-boned and skin-on or skinned. Our fishmongers are happy to prepare your fish however you need it — just select your preferred preparation when ordering.
We display catch area, production method, and species information for every product so you can make informed choices about what you eat from the sea.
Please note: fish and shellfish are wild products and availability depends on weather, season, and what the boats land each day. If a specific product becomes unavailable after you order, we’ll contact you to offer a suitable alternative or a refund for that item.
